Derma cleanse is a brand of acne product that it is very popular today. Why is that?

Some say it is because it is proven and effective. This has been determined during laboratory tests and clinical trials.

Other ways to determine this product line’s effectiveness is to read clinical trial results. It also is important to view consumer feedback.

However, this review contains something different. It offers the advantages and disadvantages of using the Derma Cleanse acne fighting system.

Advantages

Some of these advantages really are benefits, but advantages nonetheless. The most important of these is that Derma cleanse is loaded with antibacterial agents that act like scrubs.

Therefore, using this product is advantageous because in a way it works for you. The antibacterial agents are what helps kill acne at the root.

In the process of using this three-step kit all excess dirt and oil is also removed. This helps provide a more comprehensive cleansing experience for users.

The best part of all is that the all-important conditioning step is not forgotten. This is what helps keep the skin at its most balanced moisture level so further acne attacks are prevented.

Disadvantages

This product line is a bit more costly than your average one bought in a grocery or department store. Therefore, not everyone may be able to take advantage of it.

Furthermore, it also may not be suitable for all skin types though most people have not complained. The main disadvantage though is probably what could happen if it is misused as people sometimes scrub too hard.

Self Care Tips

Use the cleanser according to instructions. After you rinse off the cleanser use a soft, clean towel to dry off your face. Never rub the towel too hard into your face though.

You are removing stubborn dirt when you do. Just pat it dry with a non-abrasive towel. This will allow you to experience a fresh, clean, new appearance.

Acne problems are often treated poorly because not all the available remedies are explored. Either that or maybe for some people the right solution cannot be found in a ready-made product.

By making your own remedies you have the possibility of exploring all the available options. Once you view all kinds of recipes, formulas, and products you would most certainly find one that suits you. Then eventually your acne problems would be resolved.

Nonetheless, getting rid of acne can still be a difficult thing to do even with a home recipe versus a store-bought solution. Therefore, you should research all the options that are available to you and maybe try a few.

At one point you are sure to stumble upon a solution that will help you reduce acne. Whether it is a ready-made formula or a recipe you have invented or a recipe you have tried, eventually there should be a solution that works.

Advantages of Home Recipes

When you make your own home acne recipes you have a better chance to repeat the procedure. It also is a more economical way to treat acne consistently until it disappears.

All the ingredients are already right in front of you. All it takes is a little bit of time and money to make the remedy. This process results in better planning of your acne treatment, and saves you from making too many trips to the grocery store, pharmacy or doctor.

This is because ingredients for homemade acne remedies can usually be purchased in bulk. This has many advantages and should be taken into consideration when we are trying to get rid of acne.

If you are suffering from acne or pimples you should start reducing them at home and wait for the promising results. If you want to know more on how to make homemade acne remedies you maybe should seek some and try some.

Disadvantages

Although you can buy in bulk and in the end save money, there are some disadvantages to purchasing ingredients for home remedies. The recipes may call for numerous plant or herb sources that at first are very expensive.

However, you always have to remember that although you pay more in advance the solution or ingredients lasts for longer times. Therefore, you would not need to purchase the items as often.

Blue light acne treatment is an alternative to laser treatments. It often is preferred because it requires no use of ultra-violet light to remove skin problems.

Advantages

One main advantage is that it is safe and affordable. It is more affordable than other types of laser or light acne removal procedures.

This procedure is ideal for moderate to severe cases of acne. It actually zaps the bacteria that cause the pimples to form. It is more effective than even some of the best creams and lotions.

Disadvantages

It may be too expensive for some people. It also could slight redness or irritation, or it could cause burning and/or swelling. It may not work as well alone as would when combined with photo-dynamic therapy.

Some Background

The use of blue light procedures was approved by the FDA in 2002. Since then millions of acne sufferers have taken advantage of this way of addressing unsightly skin problems.

Since the invention of this type of acne treatment new kits have become available. They can be used for treatment right at home.

Certain kinds of blue light therapies have also been used to remove age spots and wrinkles. It is regarded as a way to help keep people looking young.

A number of herbs today are used in special formulas to clear skin problems. They provide different benefits to acne sufferers, as well as to people who experience other blemishes such as whiteheads or blackheads.

These herbs benefit an acne-prone person either directly or indirectly (dealing with the root of the problem or clearing the surface):

Thyme-Facial steam packs often are made with this pleasant-smelling herb. It is known to clear the complexion quite well. It might be mixed along with other ingredients such as basil or rose water.

Basil-This herb often is found in tea and also is included in many facial masks or treatment pastes. Its strongest suit is its ability to fight against acne-causing agents. You might see it in a home recipe along with lemon, thyme, tea tree, or witch hazel.

Tea tree-This herb is most often used as an oil. It’s main role is to cleanse and toning the skin. It has healing/antiseptic qualities that keeps acne away.

Turmeric-This root has antiseptic and antibiotic qualities. It serves the skin quite well, as it addresses the root of the problem-the acne fighting bacteria. It also helps eliminate redness, soreness, and pimples.

Burdock-This herb helps strengthen the immune system and promotes blood purification. It also provides a way to detoxify the body and one result is less chance that skin blemishes such as pimples or blackheads would form.

Rooibos-This herb has anti-oxidant qualities. Therefore, it is esteemed as a product that helps build up the immune system. It also soothes and heals the skin, which allows for the correction and disappearance of blemishes.

Heather-The young version of this flower is often added to teas. It has forever been applied as a way to clear skin problems. If you see it on a label as part of a product ingredient list you can be assured it is very helpful.

Lemon juice is a common household treatment for acne. It seems to have its benefits, which are shown below. How well does it really work? That is the main question you probably would ask.

Advantages

It is a very inexpensive solution. After all, lemon is a very common kitchen commodity. You might need to buy a bit extra but usually the cost of it is less than a dollar-or about a dollar.

Lemon juice works well because of the acidic nature of it. The juice acts as an astringent and it helps clean the skin pores just as any fancy facial cleanser would do.

It seems to do well for all kinds of pimples and scars. It even worked better for one person in particular who combined baking soda with it.

Lemon juice also seems to do an amazing job at healing red spots and healing acne. It also makes the skin soft and some people actually like the smell of it.

Disadvantages

It stings, but mainly this is the case with people who use it on an open wound. It also is slightly sticky for some people. It could dry out the skin if it is used too much or too often.

Conclusion

For most people it works very well. Generally using lemon juice does more good than harm. It is a great thing to consider.

Dr. Sheffield’s ClearZit must be somewhat of an interesting product judging by the name. It sounds so professional but does it really work? That is a great question to ask and here are some answers.

That is the question that is answered. You can see evidence of its pros and cons in the next two sections, and this will give you an idea of how well it does (or does not) work.

Pros

This product does well for preventing acne from appearing. It also helps the little pimples go away overnight. The larger acne takes a bit longer though. The redness as well as the size of pimples goes away very quickly for most people.

This product not only works, but it is very affordable. For the amount of money it costs it really seems to do wonders for many people. Many users were very impressed and very satisfied with the results.

Another major advantage of using this product is that it can be used by people of all ages. Even a 49 year old who has used it has experienced positive results. It also works great on teen acne problems.

Cons

Of course, with any product there is always a downside. Sometimes if too much is used on the wrong skin type the skin can dry and peel.

It may not be a wise move for someone with sensitive skin type to use this product. It can also irritate sensitive skin. It generally is recommended for people with normal to oily skin.

The St. Ives Apricot scrub has been popular for a long time. It has actually been used on normal and oily skin types. However, this one often is used for oily skin types.

This product has received mixed response by consumers. It seems to have done some people well while it has done other people maybe “so-so” or below average.

Pros

This product smells nice and provides users with a great way to scrub the skin and remove dead skin cells. One person has experienced a total cleansing within a week.

This person has used this product for two and a half years and it has reduced breakouts considerably. It smooths the skin in the process, and acts as a way to refresh it. Furthermore, this product clears up white heads.

Cons

St. Ives has the tendency to over-dry the skin of some people. It sometimes irritates the skin and causes a paradoxical reaction-breakouts and/or a rash. Furthermore, it sometimes stops working after awhile or even causes redness or burning.

Conclusion

The “cons” of the St. Ives solution may be because of misuse. For instance, if too much of it is used or it is used too often then it can dry the skin. Either that or if a person scrubs too hard it can cause damage to the skin.

Sometimes people use a moisturizer after using St. Ives to return the moisture to the skin. However, the idea is that some people may not want to use this product but rather one that does not dry the skin in the first place.

Different is a prescription strength topical remedy. It is meant for use in correcting cases of severe acne.

Pros

It has many benefits, including that it is effective for not only cases of severe acne but even milder cases. Users usually are at a low risk of experiencing side effects and it is gentler on the skin than other retinoid-based products. This product is known to dramatically increase acne.

Cons

Some mild discomfort such as burning, redness, or peeling might occur when using this product. However, the amount of discomfort depends upon your skin type and these side effects usually diminish in time. One major disadvantage is that this product is available only by prescription which makes it a little bit harder to get.

Ingredients

The active ingredient in Differin is Adapalene. This is a retinoid known for its effectiveness against Keratosis pilaris, which appears on the skin like clusters of red bumps. This case of acne is often referred to as “pizza face” but it also sometimes appears on the thighs, hands, legs, flanks, and buttocks.

Recommendations

It is highly advised that you seek help from a doctor or dermatologist before deciding on a certain skin gel or cream. This one is most likely going to be recommended for those who have more oily skin. However, as mentioned already it is good to find out exactly what is your skin type especially if you suffer from severe acne.

It is used for a variety of reason and has some benefits. It also has (very few) drawbacks. Please read for further information.

Pros

According to one user, significant change was noticed after a week of using this soap. Even the pain that accompanied previous acne breakouts went away. This same user then gradually increased usage of soap to once in the morning and once in the evening.

When used in moderation it can smooth and clean the skin quite nicely. For the result it produces, this soap is quite inexpensive at only 10 dollars, approximately.

Cons

If this product is used more than two times a day it can dry out the skin. It also is not meant to be a permanent solution for clearing acne problems. It could possibly harden the skin if used too often. The availability of it is also limited, but it can be delivered to numerous geographical locations.

Before you Buy

It depends upon what type of acne and how severe it is if this soap will work. If you have a very severe cystic or inflammatory acne problem you may need professional medical attention.

Seek a dermatologists’ advice if you think your problem is serious enough. Furthermore, if you have dry or sensitive skin this product is probably not recommended.
