What You Can Do To Get Rid Of Acne?

For many acne sufferers, it often seems that there's no end in sight to their misery. They can be one of the most stubborn conditions to get rid of, although the remedy may be much closer than you think. There are actually many solutions for getting rid of acne, and some of them may be effective for you.

Add more fruits and vegetables to your diet. You can make smoothies and juices from the fruit, and have a salad with your regular meal. While there are several types of nuts that can cause you to break out in more pimples, Brazil nuts and pumpkin seeds are actually helpful in preventing acne, since they contain selenium and zinc respectively. In some cases, a deficiency in these minerals has been known to cause acne.

Make sure you get enough water every day. 2 liters of clear mineral water a day is a good amount to shoot for. You will want to avoid becoming dehydrated, since this can cause your skin to retain dead cells, which can block the pores and lead to acne.

You may have noticed that you get more pimples when you are taking antibiotics. This is because these medications upset the delicate balance of bacteria in your digestive system. This can lead to a number of effects such as impaired digestion, constipation, and a reduced ability of the body to absorb nutrients properly. All of these conditions can result in the waste substances from your body being expelled through the skin. These in turn can cause your pores to become blocked, again possibly resulting in pimples. If you're taking antibiotics, it may be a good idea to include a good probiotic product into your daily regimen.

Prebiotics are also worth looking into, for their ability to maintain the balance of good bacteria in the system. Among the most beneficial foods in this regard are honey, onions, and bananas. In fact, taking a probiotic supplement along with a healthy amount of prebiotic foods can counteract many of the negative effects of taking antibiotics.

In spite of all our best efforts, it is not always possible to get all the nutrients that require from our food. Most people would greatly benefit from including supplements into their diets, and these can be helpful in clearing the skin of acne. Among the food supplements helpful in preventing acne are Maca, which is powder made from root vegetables. This goes great with smoothies, and helps normalize the body's production of hormones.
