It is a syndrome of undetermined etiology characterized by both vascular and papulopustular components involving the face and occasionally the neck and upper trunk. Clinical findings are usually limited to the sun exposed areas of the face and chest and include mid facial erythema, telangiectasias, papules and pustules, and sebaceous gland hypertrophy. Rosacea is characterized by episodic flushing of affected areas, which may be associated with consumption of alcohol, hot drinks, or spicy foods. During inflammatory episodes, affected areas of the skin, primarily the convexities of the face, develop swelling, papules, and pustules. The skin lesions are notable for the absence of comedones, which distinguishes this disorder from acne vulgaris. Rhinophyma is a late finding. Signs and Symptoms of Acne RosaceaThe clinical signs and symptoms of acne rosacea includes mid facial erythema, telangiactasias, papules and pustules, and sebaceous gland hypertrophy. The other symptoms of acne rosacea include the face turning dry, burning and itching of the skin. The absence of the blackheads is also a sign of acne rosacea. FlushingThis mainly occurs in the center of the face-the cheeks, chin, forehead and nose.Flushing can come and go, and color can range from pink to red. (First stage of Rosacea, mild case) Dilated blood vesselsThis often shows up as a web-like patten (telangiectasias) on one more parts of the face. (Second stage of Rosacea, molerate case) Acne-like lessionsPustules and papules appear on the face.( your skin may be oily in the nose and forehead and dry in the cheeks, chin area) Nose enlargementRhinophyma can occur because of severe rosacea, redness and swelling. This occurs most often in men. (Third stage of Rosacea, severe case) EyesSome people experience a "gritty" feeling, as if there sand in their eyes. (Ocular Rosacea, severe case) Acne Rosacea TreatmentsFacial Cleansers And Antibiotics Cleansers: The treatments that are available for acne rosacea are facial cleanser or the antibacterial cleansers, which have proven to be very effective and fast in their action. These two products that are available just work pretty effectively in removing the bacteria and the fatty acids from the skin. In the market there is also presence of a special moisturizer that slows down the production of oil of the skin. Peels: applying the different kinds of peels to the face and the skin of the trunk and neck can also treat the problem of acne rosacea. LaserAcne rosacea is also treated with the help of the laser therapy to the face. Photo facialThe photo-facial process is also known as photo rejuvenation, which is carried by the use of intense pulsed light, which works on reviving the skin and gives an individual a more youthful appearance. The total span of treatments is about three weeks in which there are about five treatments that are given. It must also be noted that each session just lasts about 15 to 30 minutes. This process has a little bit of its side effects, which include redness, swelling, blisters, but it is just for a small amount of time and will disappear later on their own. Microderm abrasionThis is another very effective treatment for acne rosacea, which is really pretty safe and just works on the upper layers of the skin.
